A colleague used to work on the Dover ~ Calais ferries when he was a lad and when they got pissed up after a shift in the galley, they'd chuck pairs of sausages tied together by string up in the air from the deck and watch as the cloud of gulls nabbed them and proceeded to fly off in different directions....
