I don't often shoot RAW. The reason; large JPEGs work just as well. The caveat is that you must be careful when shooting JPEG never to overexpose and burn out the highlights, since you can't recover information that just isn't there. I can get a lot more images on a card by using JPEG, and sometimes that's important.
