The photo editor liked it - called it "hydrant art." The general editor felt that, since "the paper [was] full", he wasn't going to run it, as so doing would have required bumping something else. Anyway, I like the pic, newsworthy or not, and it was fun to get excited about the possibility of having one of my photos published in the local paper.
