I shoot a D and a Ds, and yes I have no real problem in normal shooting using the green button/AE-L kludge with my K/M lenses. However I've also been shooting weddings lately, and one of my favorite lenses for that is the Vivitar S1 35-85 f2.8, wonderful bokeh, and fast and available at a reasonable price, and when things are happening fast it can be a PITA. Don't tell me that I should invest in a new lens, it's economically unfeasible based on the income. Especially considering that a new equivalent in the 28-70mm range with a fixed aperture would cost at least than 10 times what I paid for a pair of these lenses, if I could find one at all. I'm living with the limitations I don't have to be happy with them.
