I seriously doubt it is much ado about nothing. Sometimes until you see 
something good, you don't realize what the improvement can be. For instance, my 
Epson 925 produces good photos, but I have seen photos from Godfrey's R2400, 
and 
they are outstanding. Finer dots, but until I saw them I would have had no 
idea how that could make such a difference. Some of the differences we see are 
on 
such a subtle level, we might not be able to pinpoint what they are exactly, 
but still we can see an improvement -- we can see better quality.

Just my opinion.

too, but I mean you can tell the quality of the prints is better.
