Famous, but possibly apocryphal, story:

Oscar Wilde went to the USA on a lecture tour. On entry he had to fill
in a customs declaration which included the question "Is it your
intention to overthrow the government of the United States of
America". Wilde replied "Sole purpose of visit".

They let him in.
