A few days ago I questioned trying to cram so many features into the
small MZ-S, making (for me) a body that is hard to use because the
controls are tiny and stiff. Then I got dumped on by another list member
who likes the camera.

I have two 1p bodies and like them very much. They have spoiled me. If I
had not used them first I would probably be impressed by the MZ-S.

I think that Pentax went to a smaller body to reach a larger consumer
market with the (M)Z(X) series. These cameras look sharp and when you
pick one up, it is a surprise how light it is. But I don't know why they
made a higher-end body so small.
