Fair enough. The acceleration needed to confuse the sensor is bigger than that, though. Besides, that vector would be along the lens axis--perpendicular to the two directions the sensor detects.
The best way I found to confuse the sensor is to move the camera to one side, and then to the other, pressing the shutter as I change direction.
