I ended up dropping out of Grad School when it was apparent there were not going to be many English lit teaching jobs around and I was fairly competent at spec writing and I thought it was fun, I kept doing it. Haven't done anything but sell stuff on ebay and the odd photo or other sort of job in the past 8 years. I walked out of a job at 62 because my boss was insufferable.
