Oddly, the K10D compresses the PEF files but not the DNG files. My ist D produces ~13 MB PEFs. My workflow is to put the card in a card reader, and import pix onto the home Mac as (losslessly) compressed DNGs using Adobe DNG Convertor. Those DNGs are 5-6 MB.
