Dave, what email application were you using on your Mac previously? I tried Apple's 'Mail' app once and hated it. Previous to OS X, I used Claris Emailer and wanted something in OS X as close to that as I could get. This was the answer: <http://www.ctmdev.com/powermail/> The filters are pretty easy to set up and very powerful. The trial version can be downloaded from the site. I have used it since about 2002 and it has always 'done what it said on the tin'.
