I've had the P2000 since Spring 2005. It's been to the UK twice, been  
in my bag on five trips to NY, Mexico, etc. I take care of it the  
same way I take care of a good lens or camera: don't drop it, keep it  
in its fitted case when not in use, don't abuse it intentionally. It  
just keeps on working well. The Li-Ion battery lasts long enough on a  
charge to upload about 13-14 G of data, and stays charged for months  
at a time when I'm not using the unit actively.

It seems a good, tough device. I wouldn't drop kick it ... there is a  
hard drive in it, of course ... but it works very well.
