Funny, way back I went from an Olympus OM-1 to the MX for the exact reason. The Olympus had a match needle and I was shooting a bunch of dark background things (theater) and couldn't see the needle. I went to the MX because of the LED's. Functionally about the same. The readout is in half stops, so not bad.
