Scanned from a slide with minimal processing. I frankly can't remember what I used back then. But I have been using Elements for a long time, version 1-5, so that would let most of my photos out. Even if I did no twiddling, I would resize and/or convert to jpg using it. Except, I got Elements with my printer, twice (1, then 2 -- had several printers), so I guess that would qualify it as printer software and/or "free software."
