        Amen, brother.  I'm a big fan of SI prefixes (in EE, prefixes 
often range from pico to giga and everywhere in-between).  When it comes 
to computer-related things though IMO,

1KB = 2^10 bytes
1MB = 2^20 bytes... etc

        Who the hell thought 'kibibytes' and 'mebibytes' was pronounceable 
and didn't make the speaker sound like they were 3 years old?
