JSessoms:

Tokina didn't offer their co-designed lenses in Pentax mount, and
lately, it seems like they aren't offering any new lenses in Pentax
mount. Seems like they didn't want to compete with themselves because of
the proposed Pentax merger/acquisition.

If the merger is off, maybe they WILL offer lenses with Pentax mount again.

-----

As Ken Takeshita reported here, there aren't any geunuinely
"co-designed" lenses. Tokina designed the 12-24. Pentax designed all of
the other joint lenses.

I would bet that one of Pentax's stipulations in this arrangement is
that Tokina will not compete with Pentax on these lenses--that is, not
offer them in K mount.

As for any other lenses that Tokina might design that are not part of
the arrangement with Pentax (such as the 80-400), they might appear in K
mount if Tokina thinks there is enough of a market for that to be
profitable.
