When the batteries get weak, any LEDs that are lit will flicker on and off fairly rapidly. The camera and it's circuitry were designed for silver oxide batteries, and while it will work with alkalines, I am sure the battery life will not be as long. Whether alkaline batteries will die rapidly enough for the battery warning to not work is something I do not know. William Robb - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
