I came from zoom-lens background, and too was frustrated by their poor
quality, weight and size. I have finally settled on prime lenses. If you
asked me, why not go for the mightly Limited lenses (31/1.8, 43/1.9,
77/1.8)? For something more affordable, FA*24/2, FA35/2, FA50/1.4/1.7,
100/3.5, 135/2.8 are pretty good also. The FA100/2.8Macro is a good lens
too, but a bit overkill if you don't do macro.
