Yes, Linux is good for the servers: 2:55pm up 102 days, 2:27, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00 But there is not enough software available for workstations to use Linux only. I recommend the Windows 2000, very stable too. I have nothing but bad experience with Win 98 editions and ME is a joke. NT 4.0 works pretty perfectly as well. XP is the next generation of NT and 2000. I would wait a while before starting to experiment with it, at least until a couple of service packs.
