I have an Iomega CD-RW I got off eBay at £125 about 6 months ago. It burns at 4 times speed from our iMac through USB no problem at all. Sure it's no speed merchant, but it was the right price at the time (6 months ago). It takes about 15 minutes to burn a bunch of music tracks onto a CD-R, a bit faster for a load of TIFFS. So far so good.
