If my understanding of the manual is correct, it's just the opposite.  OTF
metering in ambient lighting and auto flash only with T20 or T32 flashes.
The metering is supposedly accurate only to 2 seconds, although the shutter
stays open much longer.  General opinion seems to be that beyond that,
reciprocity failure takes over.  My assumption is that the same would be
true with the LX.  (How's that for staying nearly on topic?)  :-)
