I think that's because there's a large spike caused by the K10D.
I'm sure there were a lot of *ist-D owners who were holding off
until a viable replacement came along.

I suspect that repeating this questionnaire a year from now will
show significantly more responders in the "1 - 2 year" category.

I'm not sure whether I'll retire the *ist-D (now relegated to the
secondary body) if the rumoured K20D is announced at Photokina;
it rather depends on just what new features are introduced, and
whether it would offer a significant improvement over the K10D
for the sort of photography I expect to do.  January will tell.
So a year from now I might be in the 1-2 year category myself.
