That's not the only reason cancer rates are going up, as evidenced by 
the increase in the rate of childhood cancer (from 11.5 cases per 
100,000 children in 1975 to 14.8 per 100,000 in 2004 -- that's scary!) 
though more children *survive* cancer now due to better treatment.
