Not that I'm planning to use it on the MZ-S, but I would be fine with
the single wheel on the MZ-S.  I always use either program mode or
aperature preferred.  It's not really different from my DS, except that
I always found the wheel on the MZ-S hard to turn with your thumb.

The MZ-S is nowhere near as useful with DA lenses as the PZ-1p;
the lack of an aperture ring limits your options.  But the PZ-1p
can use DA lenses in any mode - there's a thumbwheel on the body
to control the aperture, just as there is on the *ist-D or KxD.
