**: Is that so how a dedicated flash works on Super-Program/P-A when
a variable aperture zoom if fitted? IIRC I don't think so, according
to Boz's page. I must check (later).

Mafud, if you are refering to EI-2000 with the dedication, EI-2000 has
no dedication of flash, it uses simple iso X synch hotshoe.
And because of a simple software glitch, the X synch is almost for fun
(unless, of course, you use studio strobes with flashmetered output
and aperture set to the flashmeter, this is only situation where
EI-2000 is usable with external flash IMO).

If there was a simple software option like on the CP990, the EI-2000
would be much more usable. The digicam I bought at last after
"trashing" EI-2000 has not only this option, it is default behaviour
of it (constant aperture regardless of zooming by means of adjusting
the actual aperture when zooming, like Z1p does). My Sony D770 is just
great - because it was designed by photographers, not computermakers.

BTW, as much as I like fine printing B&W to 30x40cm/12x16" (I am even
lazy to do a smaller B&W print in the darkroom) I am very much looking forward
to time when usable digicams DESIGNED BY PHOTOGRAPHERS will become
normal-priced like say MZ-5n. Most (if not all) new digicams are photographic
nightmares from my point of view (meaning those in my price bracket
and slightly above)

      Good light!
