Well, I went to the zoo last night, and I had a
good time. I got to shoot some pictures in the
twilight. I shot a roll of Kodak Portra VC 800,
and a few shots with the same film in 400 ISO. I
have no idea how my shots came out. I bracketed a
little, and I used exposure settings recommended
by some of you guys. (Thanks so much, by the way!)
It was too dark for me to see the meter needle, so
I couldn't meter off the lights. I also did some
longer exposures because a lot of the lighted
animal figures appeared to be "moving", so I tried
to capture some of the movement.

The only other people I saw at the zoo with decent
photo equipment were three guys who were together.
One of them approached me to ask me how I was
metering. I noticed that he had a Pentax strap on
his camera, which he said was Pentax' last camera
before the K1000, but it didn't say Spotmatic on
it. I can't remember what the name on it was. He
said it was a screwmount. He had a big, tiltable
flash and a monopod. I was walking around with my
little Slik tripod and no flash.

By the way John, what's wrong with Kodak Max 800?
(Although I shot a roll of it myself last summer
and I wasn't too impressed...)
