I did quite a bit of research on it and found very mixed opinions. The quality of light itself seems quite good. The issue is more the dynamics of the environment around you when shooting.
Also the age old problem of recycle time looms - the more discharge of the flash, the longer the recycle time. I'm using the Pentax High voltage thing that uses 6 'C' batteries - recycle times are much better than for the internal batteries on the AF540FGZ, but full discharge can still be a problem on a fast moving wedding. A Quantum Turbo battery might be in order - but not officially supported for the AF540FGZ.
