I just received a Pentax T132 achromatic (two-element) close-up lens.
B&H had a used one for $59.00 so I thought I'd go for it. It appears to
be in perfect condition. It's a +0.76 diopter lens, made for the 67
system but I'm hoping it works reasonably well on the FA-80-200/2.8 (I
know people who've had excellent results with the Nikon and Canon
2-element diopters on this lens). It's a 67mm thread, but the DSLR crop
factor lets it work without vignetting on the 77mm filter thread with a
step-down adapter.

I'll do some tests in a couple of days to see what the resulting image
quality is like. It'll be interesting to compare with the Sigma 180/3.5
macro. It'll also be interesting to see how it works *on* the Sigma 180
macro! Should get pretty good magnification with that combo. (On the
Pentax 80-200 at 200mm it seems to get better than half-size
magnification but less than life-size. I'm guessing approximately 1:1.5
ratio - good enough for a lot of field work.
