Christine,
You should try a manual focus 28mm lens.
Shoot with it for a while to see how you like it.
The wider angle on digital gets close to a normal lens on film.
I've been using the 31mm Limited more than the DA16-45/4.
(Problem with the zoom is it goes to one extreem or the other.)
