Maybe you mean the 3xx model with the 3 little feet inside the foot? That is the one I have I use with my Maxxum 9 and Sigma 1000/8 APO lens. With no wind on relatively flat ground it will support the entire combo if I want to rest my hands for a few minutes or just want to use one light hand to keep it from moving. But it will prevent the monopod from being used to pan itself so I don't use the feet all the time. Kent Gittings

Does any one have any experience with the Manfrotto monopod that has little feet at the bottom? http://www.manfrotto.com/products/index.html?doc_from=home i assume the legs are removeable to use it as a normal monopod? I also am getting one for xmas :) For travelling it seems like a good compromise between a tripod and a normal monopod.
