If both will SMPT-E time code the streams, that should be a breeze. If
not, it's a bugger. I've been trying to find something on the cheap
that will allow me to record two to six streams on separate solid-state
devices and merge them together in post. The only things I can find
that do the time coding are /way/ above the price range I need them to
be in for a commercially viable business. It actually looks cheaper to
get a two-to-six-input box that can composite the streams in real time.
Of course, my portability problems are a little less severe than
Cotty's, too, so that's actually an option for me.
