Why not? Because the only similarity between MX and ME cameras is the approximate size. That aside they are very different to the extent that the MX has a horizontal-run fabric roller-blind shutter and the ME and derivatives have a vertical-run metal multi-blade shutter. This is the major reason that the winders are different.
