Okay, but seriously, I'm happy with this. Had I processed it in PS
I'd have used plenty of noise reduction which would have helped a lot,
but you can only look at and comment on what's on your screen right
now, I understand that. I hope you think it's a cool photo, too. Let
me know.

I do have a question, though. There appear to be horizontal lines
going across this image, the most obvious one going through the
female's upper eye. What are these? I've not noticed them on other
images. I don't know if it's a problem with the camera, the card or
the computer. Any ideas?

My first thought is: ISO 3200, slightly underexposed (perhaps)... when you jack the levels up it brings out the subtle noise and such which is present on the sensor when you push it to those extremes.

I had occasional noise issues like that with the DS - and I seem to recall that there was an issue with the DS (can't speak for the D) especially when shooting in fast multi-frame mode and in high ISO settings where that horizontal banding would pop up from time to time.

I doubt it's the card or the computer - it's probably whatever came from your sensor (unfortunately).

It's a fun picture, in a grainy, grotty, peek-in-the-dark sort of way! The noise doesn't bother me, and actually I think it helps the image (except for that horizontal stripy stuff).
