This EVF is *almost* optical in quality. It is way beyond the best prior EVF I used ... the Konica Minolta A2 ... and that was much better than the Coolscan 5700 or Sony R1 EVFs. I haven't tried tracking birds with it but I don't think it will have much difficulty.

It was a great camera, I really appreciated the articulated viewfinder for getting shots where I couldn't stick my head - like the underside of instrument panels and other situations where I could position the camera body and move the viewfinder so it could be viewed during image capture.
