Yes, the Metz 60CT-1 does support dry-fit batteries.

A few months ago I dusted off my 60CT-1 after about 8 years storage with a
single use 2 years ago, and the 15 year old battery not only still had some
charge, but recharged in regulation time, and performed like new.  But FWIW
a slightly older dryfit cell that I have is swollen so I won't tempt fate by
putting it on the charger.  I bought the flash unit new in 1980, it's had
one overhaul 10 years ago and works like new.  Not bad for a 29 year old
flashgun.
