There goes your weather resistance, Larry.
Call Pentax Monday and tell them what happened. You may find they will
fix it under warranty.
My K100 dropped in the first year of use, and crunched the mode dial
(only). I sent it in to Pentax for sensor cleaning and asked them to
replace the dial, which they did, as well as the focus motor, AF
sensor module, and eye-cup (torn) all at no charge, and extended my
warranty for another year. Standard policy if you send the camera in
every 11.5 months for any reason, even for just a check up.
They may just tell you to send it in for an "Estimate" and not make
any other verbal statement of coverage, but the chances are you will
get the camera back without hearing from them, repaired.
