I think this was the same problem you had months ago, just cropping up in
a slightly different way this time.
There is something wrong with your video card or the configuration for
your video card.
Marnie Actually, I think this is the third time you have mentioned this
problem, cropping up each time in a slightly different way. I would find
another team than your regular boys to take a look at it.
---------------------------------------------
It hasn't actually changed it's problem, I'm just getting increasingly fed
up with it happening. You might be remembering the original issue I had with
this machine, which was caused by the Matrox card I installed originally not
supporting a few things such as DirectX 10 and the like. I fixed that issue
by replacing it with the Asus card. The link that Graydon pointed me to made
me decide to not bother chasing it down any longer and just replace the
graphics card with a new one and go from there.
You are probably right about the team I use, they are nice guys, but they
are a "used technology" shop, so most of what they deal with is a generation
or two behind my computer, though the owner came from one of the better
computer places in town and seems to know what he is doing.
OTOH, with the money I've now spent on trying to figure out where the
problem is coming from, I could have just as easily replaced the video card
with enough money left over to put a down payment on a new motherboard, so I
guess sometimes it's a false economy to try to solve these things.
Thanks for responding
William Robb
