That's probably the primary reason, yes, but you wouldn't believe how
many people brought in cameras to Reed's complaining of memory card
problems, which then turned out to be bent pins.  We made a point of
showing customers how to properly insert CF cards, but it didn't always
stick.  A couple manufacturers (I can't remember which now) would cover
bent pins under warranty, but most would not, and this would result in
customers who were INCREDIBLY unhappy with the camera company as well as
our store.  Hell, even sales reps complained about it frequently.

Anyway, that's just my take on it.  SD works fine for me.
