Earlier this year our beloved PM championed the idea of a big cycleway the entire length of the country. Until the numbers came in (it'd cost maybe a few percent of any one big-city roading project). Now it's apparently going to be a patchwork of smaller trails.

I want to do the Otago Rail Trail one of these days. Either go nuts and do the whole thing in a day, or do it at a more leisurely pace with a medium format rig and lots of stopping along the way.
