What's the point of having lenses if you don't use them? Whether I don't own the lens, or I left it at home, if I miss the shot, the kitten still dies.
My K20, FA31, DA40, and FA77 all together cost me less than Dave probably paid for his D700 body. I doubt that he leaves the D700 at home for fear of damaging it.
