in a serious vein, my son discovered that his Nikon D70, when using a
wireless trigger, will not only fire a flash at 1/500 to 1/2000 sec,
it will also sync. We tried it with my Oly EP-1 and it does the same
at 1/500 sec.

Indeed, this is expected with the D70. It's one of its great features - it uses an electronic shutter at speeds above x-sync. That is, the mechanical shutter only ever goes up to 1/250 or whatever it is,then faster speeds are done electronically. Allows flash sync at any shutter speed, which is great for things like overpowering daylight with your flash(es).

I'd love to see this feature from pentax (as an option, if need be), but I'm not holding my breath.
