I think the ugly rationale used in press conferences at the time to
justify seven bullets to the head at close range coram publico was
that if only his brain was blown to smithereens fast enough there
would be no time left for him to detonate his bomb... anyone acting on
that assumption either has a very questionable understanding of what
the human brain is capable of or simply draws on very limited
resources themselves... I suspect the latter...

I realize I am picking on an isolated incident but:
"Stockwell 1, whose findings were initially kept secret, concluded
that no officer involved in the shooting would face disciplinary
charges"
is exemplary of the ends justifying the means mentality pervasive of
the actions of the coalition of the willing
