I agree with you, Paul.  And of course, I ~do~ care what Peter thinks.

I think a conversion to B&W is about the least offensive of uninvited
alterations.  Certainly much less invasive than, say, cloning
something out, or cropping, IMHO.

And we know that Bill did it in the spirit of collegiality.
