the only indications that global temperatures were lower during the Medieval Climate Optimum were based on Mann's work, which has been extensively debunked and the CRU leaks show pretty clearly that he was mucking with his data and the data that wasn't mucked with is tree-ring data which is not considered indicative of either atmospheric conditions or temperature by biologists (the closest correlation is to precipitation, and that's less than 50%). -- M.
