I had a few minutes between calls this afternoon so I popped into a
chain bookstore and wandered up to the photographic book section.  I
pulled out a book called The Contact Sheet by Steve Crist.

It was awesome!

It took a look at some well-known photos (and some that I wasn't
familiar with) by some very well-known photographers.  The
photographers talked about the individual photo and the shoot in
general.  Accompanying each photo was the entire contact sheet from
that roll.

Fascinating!

I only had the chance to look through about 1/4 of the book, but of
that portion the highlight was Elliott Erwitt (one of my all-time
heroes) with his photo of Marilyn Monroe reading:
