Hey Frank, Since I happen to have 2 *ist D bodies along with the K-x I was able to do the comparison you were wondering about. I tried with a 50/1.4, 50-135/2.8 and 400/5.6 lenses. For all practical comparisons, they are very close. The *istD viewfinder seems just a smidge larger, but only as I quickly switch between them. The K-x viewfinder is a smidge brighter. Manually focusing (mostly what I do) is about the same between them.
So if you were to get one, you would not be unhappy due to the viewfinder. I think you would find loads of other things about the K-x that are an improvement over the *istD. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. -- Best regards, Bruce Friday, March 5, 2010, 6:12:30 AM, you wrote: ft> More than one person on this list has mentioned that the KX might fit ft> my needs in a body. ft> I just read a post from Mark where he mentions that the viewfinder's a ft> bit small and darkish. ft> Is anyone able to compare the KX viewfinder with that of the *istD? ft> The *istD's bright viewfinder is actually quite important to me and if ft> the KX' is dark, that would be a real sore point with me. ft> Thanks! ft> cheers, ft> frank ft> -- ft> "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
