>Have you used it for B&W negs? Sorry to answer in bits. I scan B&W all the time in 8 bit, er 256 shades of grey. That gives a file size of about 8 MB at 2700 dpi. Others have scanned B&W in 'color' but I don't understand why, removing the colour info in Photoshop does the same thing and removes the chroma info. Unless, they simply leave the chroma, tweak the saturation and/or hue down? Hmm, must try this.
