I've tried a quick test using Yahoo Pipes, which seems like a good tool for this. It has 3 RSS sources for testing: My own Flickr photostream, and the photoblogs of John Celio and Mr. Eckinator. The three sources are combined with a "union" operator, sorted by publication date, and sent to the output.
