Hi, it's a bed/sitting room. When young people first leave (their parents') home they often rent a bedsit. Generally it's one room with a bed in it and a couple of chairs. Shared bathroom & kitchen with other people in the same house. Hell on Earth.
Many towns have areas where a lot of the houses have been converted into bedsits. These areas are called bedsitter-land. TV programmes about people living in these places were common in the 1970s. These are bedsit-set-sitcoms*. If they're broadcast on satellite channels they go via bedsit-set-sitcom-sat**. --- Bob * I just made that up. ** that too. mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Wednesday, January 30, 2002, 9:37:08 PM, you wrote: > To anyone who speaks English English--can you please enlighten me as to what > a "bedsit" is?? > --Mystified Mike - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
