In practice, I've found the recharge time to be longer with the eneloops. 
However, that being said, I have some excellent NIMH cells that I use with my 
flashes. They definitely outperform the energizers that I once used, so they 
may not be typical. I think the brand name is Nuvo, but I'm not sure. (I'd have 
to go look, and I"m feeling a bit under the weather.:-). I got them from a 
place that deals only in batteries. It's called "battery central," a local shop 
with knowledgable personnel and a wide range of battery choices.
